W. Hock Hochheim - Military PoliceHock, as he asked us to call him, is a true expert in real life knife and gun use and self defense. This is a product of his long career with the military and police and is reflected in his approach to training. While most of the instructors at Karate College Seminar were dressed in karate gi's or workout clothing, Hock wore his street clothing, as that is what we would be wearing in a real life confrontation.

We worked on knife defenses and how to incorporate real life elements into our ground fighting. Hock emphasized that we must always assume the attacker has a hidden knife and to act accordingly. He also believes the best approach is to grab the weapon-bearing limb and then "fight like hell". His techniques are simple and real-life oriented.
