How Hard Can You Get Hit

Let me tell you something you already know (Rocky Balboa)

Yes, that's how it starts. I do not pretend to tell anyone anything new, we all know it but as Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzzato and the fictional character but larger than life Rocky said, we tend to forget and we need to be reminded.

It is not about how hard you can hit, a lot of martial arts clubs think this way, no, its about how hard you can GET hit and keep moving forward.

That's how winning is done.

Lets give this a moments thought. Today people are taking about "safe places" where no one will hurt us, give me shelter from the pain, give me shelter from the rain, give me shelter from my name. No, face the pain, take the hit, take the pain and keep going, that's how winning is done. Life will beat you down more than any boxing opponent and you have to learn how to take it. You have to face the storm and say hit me with your best shot, knock me down and I will only get up again, that's how winning is done. Life is our greatest opponent.

Bullying is here to stay and it is only getting worse. Give me shelter. It is going to hurt for a while but we must remember who we are.

People are going to do horrible things, people are going to say horrible things. Think what you will of politicians but do you know what they have to put up with? Social media is filled with the most outrageous accusations and horrible captions. Can you imagine seeing that about yourself every day? Give me shelter. Think what you will of them but they take all the crap thrown at them and they don't kill themselves. They do not collapse.

We like to hit, we train to hit hard but we get hit hard as well. As Rocky says I don't care how tough you are life is going to knock you down, take you down to your knees and you got to be able to get back up again. That is what being tough is all about. If you don't learn how to get up life will keep you down permanently. We have to know who we are and fight for our share in life, fight, not beg. Nothing shall be given for free.
