IKI Germany Seminar

IKI instructor Bernd Hoele's specialty is Kung Fu, weapons and forms. His studio, Golden Dragon Center, Kampf-Kunst in German, is filled with every possible Chinese weapon you can imagine, and he is an expert in their use. He is also a devoted practitioner of Krav Maga and has many different kinds of guns and knives for training in real life self defense.

Entering his center one immediately realizes that this man's life is devoted to martial arts. From a young age he has studied just about every style imaginable and has rooms full of awards and ranks acknowledging his many accomplishments and contribution to the martial arts.

And yet, in true martial way, he is the symbol of humility, kindness and generosity.

Despite the five blow zero weather and record high snows, the room was filled with expert martial arts practitioners of many styles, including German Navy Commando. It was an honor and a pleasure to instruct them. I felt a real bond with this new generation, working together in cooperation for a better world. Many traveled long distances to come to the seminar, spending hours on the train or driving through snow covered roads.

Juergen Kohler came all the way from Stuttgart and stayed over night. He will soon be teaching IKI Krav Maga in his town, so we are expanding and growing. He is an excellent martial artist and a wonderful man.

As my flight was cancelled I ended up spending an extra day in Germany and was able to visit the local towns and get a little bit of a feel for the country.
