What if I told you that you could have a super power? What if I told you that you could have a power that would make you unstoppable and successful? Now what if I told you that you already have this power?

This is the power not to give up. There is no force or talent more important that the decision not to give up, not to let your dreams slip away.

The movie Rocky tells the story of a young boxer, down and out, slow of speech and uneducated, living in a bad part of town. The hopes for the future are grim indeed. The story tells of the triumph of the human spirit and the rest is history.

But as many of you know while the story may be fictional it is the product of a real life story which is not only true but far more inspirational than the movie. The story of Sylvester Stallone is greater than the Rocky story.

The message of both stories is to never give up on your dreams, to never give up on yourself. That is the message we should be walking away with; from the movie and the true life story.

As Rocky says life will hit you hard, harder than any opponent, but it is not about hitting hard, it is about being hit hard and still going on.

The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!

We all know stories about celebrities, actors and musicians, who never gave up on their dreams and eventually made it big, but there are more stories. There are stories of the "ordinary" people all around us; people with dreams of owning a house, managing their own little business, even learning a new language or a musical instrument, regular dreams. They had these dreams and never gave up, that is the power of the success.

How many people took up martial arts, a musical instrument, the Italian language before their trip to Rome?

And how many have dropped out? my guess would be 95%.

The power not to give up, that is our super power, if you we choose to use it. To stand up to life and say, I am! I exist and I want something.

I know a young woman who weighed over 200 pounds, and then she made a decision and she stuck to it. Just the other day she won four fights. Now I am not a fight fan at all, and I do not enjoy these matches, but I admire someone for standing toe to toe against their fears, I admire someone who does not give up on their dreams. This young woman is now an IKI instructor and I am very proud of her.

Don't give up and everything is possible.
