Jerusalem Krav Maga Training

Jerusalem Krav Maga is a term I sometimes use to refer to our 'branch' or 'style'. Everything evolves; languages evolve, clothing styles evolve and martial arts evolve. They must evolve or else they become irrelevant.

To practice jujitsu the way it was practiced by the ancient Samurai might give you a sense of history and tradition. However, in real life you will not be riding a horse in the open country or wearing an armored suit. More likely you will be taking the train to work and wearing a business suit. Thus, your martial art must evolve if it is to remain true to its original intent and purpose; self defense and self preservation.

Jerusalem Krav Maga, the Krav Maga of IKI (Israeli Krav International) is based on reality today in cities like Jerusalem. Many knife attacks have taken place in the narrow confines of the Old City of Jerusalem. Many gun threats have taken place in small rooms, stairways and other confined spaces. Attacks have taken place in crowded market places. As such our training is geared towards this reality.

Training in confined spaces, preparing for reality

My home town of Maaleh Adumim is located in the Judean Desert. We have to be able to fight in the heat, on rocky surfaces, with sand and wind, not exactly tournament settings. All this has to be taken into account when training.

Our training center is a short drive or bus ride from Jerusalem. When you come to Israel – come train with us!
