Fear Despair Hope

"Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that you may prosper in all that you do." (verse 8)
Moshe/Moses warns the Hebrew nation about the consequences of not following the laws of God, the "Path". Many curses, consequences are listed that may befall the Nation of Israel if the Path is not followed. Moshe puts the "Fear of God" into the people, but then he calms them. He offers hope, we read, "You are Standing here today, all of you" (Deuteronomy Chapter 29, verse 9)
The meaning of this verse is; you were slaves in Egypt, you survived that. You made a dramatic escape from Egypt, all of you, thousands, Pharoah sent out his mighty army after you, you survived that. You spent forty turbulent years wandering through the desert, you survived that. You will survive this challenge of the curses as well. It is good that you afraid, but you can get through this. It may not be easy but you need not despair. Your situation is not hopeless.
This is the key. It is good that you are afraid, but there is a big difference between Fear and Despair, between Hopelessness and hope. You are not at the point of Despair, do not lose hope. I shall guide you through this.
And now the relevance to our lives and to Krav Maga.
The world is violent!
I am constantly warning about violence, and it is real, and when it happens, it is terrifying, this is me Moshe/Moses warning - If you do not follow the Path there will be consequences and they will be terrifying. But, I am also saying there is no need for Despair. Fear does not have to equal Despair. Train and there will be hope.
