Four Hundred Percent

IKI Airplane training. We conduct this type of training on a regular basis.
As I was moving around the cabin a male flight attendant recognized me. "Weren't you on the flight from Frankfurt a couple of days ago?" Yes, "You fly more than me". He noticed the Krav Maga T shirt and asked about it. I told him that that in fact was the reason for my travel. Soon a few other flight attendants gathered around and were asking questions, but they were also teaching me something.
"Attacks on flight attendants are up 400% since the war began. People are tense and get triggered quickly. The other day a passenger had a female flight attendant totally bent over the counter in the kitchen area."
I asked for more example, I want to learn. They said there was pushing, punching and verbal intimidation. There was grabbing and even kicking. All this in the confined space of an aircraft.
I asked what was being done about it. The answer was, nothing, nothing at all. I gave them my card, but they suggested I contact El Al, as if El Al is looking for outside help and extra expenses.
I told them that for most of the country the "Awakening" took place on October 7, 2023, but some on the extreme left have gone back to sleep. I said that for me the Awakening took place nearly 50 years ago when I heard the late Rabbi Meir Kahane speak.
This name brought terror to their minds, to them, all clearly on the extreme left, the name Rabbi Kahane conjured up images of tough Jews. Rabbi Kahane preached that Jews should not be silent victims, that Never Again should we be helpless against those who wish to harm us. He founded the Jewish Defense League so that those poor and elderly Jews left behind in Changing Neighborhoods, could walk to the supermarket and not get mugged. What a crazy idea! Jews standing up for themselves. And the mention of this name turned them against me. No, they would not learn Krav Maga, no they would not do anything at all about the 400% increase in violence in their place of employment, no, they would not wake up. Better to be a victim then to be associated with "Tough Jews" or Right-wing types.
It was Rabbi Kahane who inspired me to take up martial arts. Now I teach all over the world, helping train people to stand up for themselves, but there are those who cannot be moved, 400% increase in violence and yet...nothing shall be done.
I gave the head flight attendant my card, not holding my breath.
