55 But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then shall those that ye let remain of them be as thorns in your eyes, and as pricks in your sides, and they shall harass you in the land wherein ye dwell.
נו וְהָיָה, כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּמִּיתִי לַעֲשׂוֹת לָהֶם--אֶעֱשֶׂה לָכֶם.
56 And it shall come to pass, that as I thought to do unto them, so will I do unto you. Numbers Chapter 33 בְּמִדְבַּר
I am in the USA, and at the moment I am in California, I am meeting with all sorts of people, including members of the Jewish community. Among Jews the topic of the Holocaust, the destruction of European Jews, often comes up. And one will often hear the phrase and the sentiment of "Never Again".
I recall when I first hear this phrase and like many, I had misunderstood it, I thought it meant that never again would we allow a Holocaust to take place, never again would we be murdered, rounded up, shoved into cattle cars and lead away to our cruel destruction. But then I met the founder of the Jewish Defense League, the late great Rabbi Meir Kahane, may the memory of the righteous be for a blessing, and I understood the true meaning - it was not that never again would there be a Holocaust, that is beyond our control, but never again would be stand by idle and allow it to happen. We will not allow ourselves to be victims.
I took this message to heart, I began to train in martial arts, at first karate, then Judo and then Ninjitsu and finally I found Krav Maga. I joined the Israeli army, I learned to shoot, but even more than that, I became very politically active. I raised my voice, I wrote, I lead a political movement, I was elected as a delegate, I participated at national events, and eventually I founded IKI Krav Maga to spread real practical self defense to people all over the world, good people, both Jews and non-Jews.
When I took the vow of Never Again, I meant it.
But here, I hear the words, but I don't see the actions. In fact, I see the opposite, I see people who claim "Never Again" as a goal but yet vote for those who will harm us. They advocate "mercy" for the cruel, forgetting that those who are merciful to the cruel will end up being cruel to the merciful. The speak of "understanding" towards our enemies while our young men are sacrificing their lives defending Israel. It is no longer hypothetical. We know that Iran wants to use "The Bomb" against Israel, we know the leader of the Arabs in the 1940's Haj Amin el Husseini met with Hitler and had already chosen some choices locations near Jerusalem to build gas chambers for us, we saw with our own eyes what the Arabs did on October 7, putting even the Nazis to shame with their cruely, there is no longer any doubt.
And yet Jews vote for our enemies, and yet Jews vote for a Jew-hater in New York and on the national level as well. and we can only scratch our heads and re read the words of the holy Book.
But if you will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then shall those that you let remain of them be as thorns in your eyes, and as pricks in your sides, and they shall harass you in the land wherein you dwell.
And it shall come to pass, that as I thought to do unto them, so will I do unto you.
Yes, we have been warned, and no, most have not listened. They must learn the hard way. I heard this message as a young man. Made the news as a teenager fighting for the right of Soviet Jews, been in street fights and prisons, and I will not give up the fight.
Never Again, do you really mean it?
We won't be fooled again.
I am back in LA where I first joined the Jewish Defense League as a young man, I am around the corner from where I lived with my family, I am older now, but the fight within me as not diminished, the fire still burns!
