Powerless or Powerful

We are going through challenging times. To put it honestly this is not just any war, this is a war of survival. Our leading experts, the consensus is that Iran had built up its military capacity, including its nuclear arsenal for the purpose of wiping the State of Israel, and the Nation of Israel off the face of the earth. This is perhaps the greatest enemy we have ever faced, and the greatest threat we have ever faced.
In comparison to this threat, all the personal inconveniences, are minor. If we were given a choice, nuclear attack or loss of income, reduced standard of living, a few months of living in a bomb shelter, I am sure we would all feel that the current situation is a good choice. True, we are hurting, true, life and business have interrupted, true, schools have been closed for a long time. But in comparison to what might have been, we must be grateful.
Again, the expert consensus is we are facing an existential threat, this is a consensus between the leading Israeli and American experts. We had no choice.
This round is more challenging than the previous round, Rising Lion, they are better prepared, but so are we.
And now, we look at our lives, our personal lives. Many are serving in the reserves, their personal businesses have suffered, their family income is way down, often at half, the government is not able to offer any benefits. I had just had a major trip to Europe cancelled, the US dollar, where I have most of my life savings, is down 25% over the past few years, interest rates are down, investments are not yielding anything, and work....is hard to come by. Our dojo used to be filled, mostly with foreign students, Europeans studying that the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and Jewish rabbinical students from all over the world studying at the Yeshivot/Rabbinical academies of Jerusalem. Since Corona, five years ago, all that is gone. Our Tour and Train program, where we used to have to rent a bus, down to one or two participants. Around the world there is a huge increase in antisemitism and even many former friends do not wish to host seminars by an Israel. In a word, Challenging.
In another word, one feels powerless. All this is beyond our control. There is absolutely nothing I can do to change anything of this, and all the "Positive Energy" in the world will not change this. We must accept that in this lifetime there are things beyond our control, all we can do is quiet acceptance, and, see what avenues are open to us.
So what can I do? I can devote more time to developing and improving our IKI Krav Maga system. Our small but dedicated team that still manages to get to the dojo, despite the threat of missiles, work on new situations all the time. We work to solve new problems as they come up, improve existing techniques and improve how we teach and explain these techniques. This is not a vacation; this is an opportunity to truly refine and improve our Krav Maga. Out of the Darkness shall come light. Daily we are filming new techniques for our Krav Maga online program, we have over 1,500 videos ready to go out. In many ways my hands are tied, having flights cancelled is devastating, but we can never give up. Always Forward!!!
