Ready Does Not Arrive

There is an old cliche, I will start my diet tomorrow. But tomorrow never comes. I saw a sign on the wall as I headed for baggage claim in Ohio before a recent seminar, it read "The graveyard is filled with people who were going to start tomorrow."

So what are you waiting for? You are waiting to be ready. But here is the problem - Ready Does Not Arrive! You must bring Ready to you. 

I recall the story of how my great aunt and uncle became engaged. This was perhaps 80 years ago, a different era. The young couple had been dating for some time but my uncle did not propose, he was "not ready". Well, my aunt's parents would not put up with that sort of nonesense any longer. Their daughter was not getting any younger and she was wasting her best years with a man who was "Not ready".

They took action.

My aunt's mother showed up at the home of the Katz family and gave them an ultimatum, "Your son proposes tonight or I take my daugther and you will never see her again."

and the rest is history; I attended their fiftieth wedding anniversary. It was a gala black-tie affair. (The only such event I ever attended.)

Successful people do not wait to be ready. And they certainly do not waste their time with people who are waiting to be ready. You get ready now!
