Screams Silence

"You hear the screams. And then you hear silence."
This quote comes from a survivor of the October 7, 2023, invasion of the Arab forces from the south. We now know that this was just a small part of the planned invasion from all directions. We are currently still involved in a 7-front war. The goal was as stated since the inception of the first Arab-Israel war; the total annihilation of the Jewish people. Let us not forget that the Arabs of this region, known as "Palestinians," since the 1960's (for propaganda purposes), were active allies with the Nazis. In Israel the Arabs formed a Hitler youth brigade called the Futuwwa. Arabs had a goal to poison the water wells of Tel Aviv and bring about the elimination of 250,000 Jewish residents. This stated goal has never been dropped or even revised.
The Mufti set up Muslim SS units to fight for Germany and actively assisted in the "Final Solution of the Jewish Question/Problem". Prominent among this group was the Nashashibi family, if that name sounds familier it is because Raghib al-Nashashibi was mayor of Jerusalem (1920–1934) during the British Mandate. One of the Nashashibi family, who studied medicine in Vienna, served as a doctor in Death Camps. (medical experiments etc.)
The truth must be stated bluntly. And yet some people will not see the truth even as they are hit on the head with it like a blunt object.
The survivor of the October 7th massacres tells of rape, mutilation, humiliation and torture. What he speaks of, cannot truly be repeated in polite company, but one phrase caught my attention, a warning, a call to action that is sadly always ignored.
I heard this before, from Holocaust survivors. But let this not be only about us, the Jewish people, let the message be a universal, as many Jewish traditions and lessons become universal. After all, we created the "weekend", the day of rest. First come the screams, it could be a rape victim in New Orleans, or a street mugging and stabbing in New York City. It could be a home invasion in South Africa or a child being held in a basement for years. The Screams are universal. The screams are ignored and then they are followed by Silence. The Sound of Silence, the price for ignoring the Screams. It is the Silence of our very souls.
"Your brother's blood cries from the ground" (Genesis 4:10)
"Earth, do not cover my blood; may my cry never be laid to rest! (Job, Chapter 16, verse 18)
We hear the screams, we learn to ignore them, and then the screams subside as the victim dies, and now all that is left is the Silence of the Dead. And the Silence of the Living.
Yes, and how many times can a man turn his head
And pretend that he just doesn't see?
Yes, and how many deaths will it take 'til he knows
That too many people have died?
and how long will it take until you commit yourself to training in self-defense, to protect yourself, to protect those who care about you, to protect those you love?
You can begin today; the answer is below. The choice is yours. Ignore the screams and pay with the Silence. I have chosen not to ignore the screams, not to ignore the pain, and never to be silent. Never Again!
