Stabbing for Fun

In Israel we grow up with war and terrorism. We are well aware that knife attacks will happen. We must learn to be alert. In other places that I have lived such as New York City and Los Angeles we are also constantly aware, muggings, robberies, can take place at any time. A dear friend went to collect the rent on behalf of his employers and was shot dead on the spot. Evil walks beside us.
But there is more. Just today I saw footage of a trial where a woman was trying to justify herself in court. She stabbed a boy in the parking lot, and he died as a result of injuries sustained in this stabbing. The victim and his family did not know the attacker, they had never seen her before, they had to reason to fear her.
In her defense she said, "It was just for fun, it was a fun stabbing, I did not intend to kill him", she laughed, "I did not expect him to be so fragile". Fortunately, she was sentenced to life in prison, may this monster never see the light of day again.
But this should be a wakeup call, for everyone. The Bible says, "The Happy is the man who fears always, but he who hardens his heart falls into misfortune."(Proverbs, Chapter 28, verse 14)
Many interpretations are given to this, many deal with the idea that man should always be in awe of God, and be afraid of doing anything that is wrong, or immoral; One should always be examining his deeds. The word Fear in Hebrew does not translate exactly into English, it is more like being in awe, not being afraid. Let us interpret this in a Krav Maga self-defense way. Praised by the man (or woman) who lives in constant awareness of his surroundings, for one who ignores this shall surely fall into great misfortune."
My dear mother, may she rest in peace, would always remind me as I left her house, make sure you have your keys, and your wallet, drive safely! She would also warn me against potential attacks. I do not like it when people smoke in places where they should not, or throw trash on the street, and sometimes I would comment to this effect. My mother would be worried, "Don't say anything, they might have a knife, they might stab you." but I took the risk. And yet, her warnings are wise. A stabbing can take place for any reason, at the slightest provocation or without any reason at all, like the woman-monster who stabbed for "fun". And for this "Praised be the man who is constantly afraid, constantly aware"
Yes, the Bible was correct. Do not live in fear, but live with caution, with a sense of Awareness of your surroundings, learn to observe, learn to pay attention and not be distracted. and learn to defend yourself against a knife!
But it will never happen to me! Until it does, and then it is too late.
You must learn self-defense, you must learn the basics of defending against a knife, and you must learn how to handle a situation where a family member is attacked. Screaming and panicking is not an act of self-defense. In fact, it turns on and excites the monsters.
In order to live in peace, without fear, one must learn to be "afraid" in the Biblical sense, that means to be aware of danger at all times, but he who hardens his heart, and ignores this message, will experience great misfortune.
Let us avoid misfortune.
