The Advantage of Knowing

Imagine if you were able to know things in advance and then change the course of your personal history.

Imagine if you knew that after driving an hour and a half to the airport you would discover that you left your winter jacket on your coach back at home. Imagine if you knew that an investment would turn out bad. Imagine if you knew that a four year relationship would blow up in your face, imagine if you knew that a certain trip would end in disaster. Surely you would change your plans.

Imagine if you knew that you were going to be attack.

Now the fact is, that in principle we already know all these things. We know them because they already exist, in possibility That is why we make a list before we travel: Do I have my passport, do I have my charger for my phone. And we check and we double check because we know the risk of leaving these important items behind.

We say, Darn, if I only knew that today....such things would happen, but the fact is that a great deal of knowledge is already in our possession. We must take this knowledge and use it to our advantage. We must not ignore the warning signs. We must remember the dangers that lie ahead.
