Pretty Words Believe Fantasy

It is a long flight. Fortunately, El Al now offers Talmud lessons, but with a 14-hour flight I decided to take a break from study, and look for some music to relax to. I see an album by our old neighbor from more than 50 years ago, Danny Sanderson, his band Gazoz with female singer Mazi Cohen singing the lead vocals.
He called me again, He spoke to me pretty words with no cover,
I was told to be careful, never to hurry, but with every date I fall again, pretty words with no coverage.
I have heard so much talk, from so many men, this time I have learned my lesson, it is not worth, pretty works with no coverage. (Danny Sanderson)
The song was in Hebrew, and my translation does not quite capture it. The idea of no coverage is a typical Danny Sanderson play on words. A check that bounces, is returned, a payment that is not honored, is called a payment with no coverage. i.e. it has no value. Thus, here the idea is that the guys' talk is cheap, he makes promises, but never backs them up, a check with no coverage, a credit card with no credit, all fake, deceit, and this made me think of the world of Krav Maga today. It is nothing more than pretty words with no coverage, nothing to back up the fancy promises.
I see this all the time, photos with muscles to cover up a lack of true skills, sports techniques instead of real-life survival skills, pretty words but as the song says, without coverage. That is the sorry state of Krav Maga today and that is what we at IKI aim to counter, to provide you, the real person, with real skills, to be able to handle real situations, real time. From us you will get no Pretty words or pretty uniforms, just tough talk backed by knowledge.
I sit back and another familiar song comes on, this one in English, an old favorite of me. Here too I heard the hint of Fantasy, the falsehood in life and a reminder of the falsehood in many so-called self-defense systems.
Help me believe in anything
'Cause I want to be someone who believes
Yes, how many students and instructors believe simply because they want to be "someone who believes".Their faith overcomes the lack of logic in their chosen system, faith is no replacement for Truth.

To believe, to believe
This again speaks for itself, people want to be lions, but they are not, they are just house cats, we all want to be big stars, big big stars, but more than that, we all want something to believe in, and it does not really matter if it is true or not. The song speaks of belief where there is really no belief but that does not stop the wanna be, he wants to be the kind of person who believes, and that matters more to him than the truth.
But we at IKI seek the truth, not pretty words with no coverage, not faith without reality, for it is a matter of Life. To Life!
